Onze CD's
Tot nu toe heeft Kilshannig drie CD's uitgebracht. De derde, een live-CD getiteld "on holy ground", werd op 15 april 2007 gepresenteerd tijdens een optreden in "The Irish Cottage" in Oude Niedorp. Eerder bracht de band de CD's "Buskers: Kilshannig" (1992) en "Our Chief Delight" (1997) uit. U kunt de CD's bestellen via onze kilshannig shop


Kilshannig live on holy ground	Het derde album van Kilshannig is een live-CD, waarop de sfeer van de Ierse traditionele muziek en het enthousiasme van de band uitstekend tot hun recht komen.

Er werden 15 nummers geselecteerd die als totaal een goed beeld geven van de grote verscheidenheid binnen de Ierse volksmuziek en de wijze waarop Kilshannig haar interpreteert en bewerkt. Kortom: bijna 80 minuten een combinatie van Ierse sfeer en muzikale kwaliteit! Het album heeft internationaal de aandacht getrokken en is besproken door DJ's en toonaangevende folkbladen. 	Kilshannig our chief delight
Nadat de band de naam had veranderd in Kilshannig namen zij de CD "Our Chief Delight"op. Deze keer vonden zij hun inspiratie gedurende een kort verblijf in het voorjaar van 1996 in Killinaboy aan de rand van de Burren, waar zij Pat Cooksey en Tommy Peoples ontmoetten. Named after the small hamlet Cil Seanaigh on the Dingle peninsula in County Kerry on the south-west of Ireland, Kilshannig aren’t exactly your typical Celtic band. Every member of the group hail from somewhere in the province of North Holland. While the Netherlands aren’t exactly renowned for its Celtic music, Kilshannig do a good job of pulling it off. You aren’t going to hear anything extremely innovative in their playing but with that said they do a fine job of standard traditional music from Scotland and Ireland. While their instrumental tracks are well done, I find that it is on the songs that this group excels with some wonderful harmony singing. If you are a lover a traditional song you will be delighted with their versions of the well worn classics, such as “Jack Of All Trades”, “The Raggle-Taggle Gipsy”, “Carrickfergus”, “The Bonnie Ship The Diamond” and “Will You Go Lassie Go”. They also do a version of Eric Bogle’s poignant anti-war song “My Youngest Son Came Home Today”, which is given fine treatment by the band. The key to the success of Kilshannig is that they make music that is their “Chief Delight” and the fact that they take great delight in making music is clearly displayed on this recording. Zij verbleven in het huis dat op de CD-inlay staat afgebeeld, met een vrij uitzicht over Tralee Bay. De CD bevat 14 tracks, vooral ballads. Uitverkocht!
